Interestingly however, only three of the eight variants that was going to go up in sale in India are available for pre-orders in Flipkart. With the blue variant set to launch in India later, Indians were promised two memory variants (32GB and 128GB) and two color variants (Quite Black and Very Silver) for the two phones (Pixel and Pixel XL), which makes eight variants. But Flipkart is only listing the 32GB and 128GB variants for the Pixel in Quite Black and only 128GB Pixel XL in Quite Black.
A Google spokesperson told NDTV Gadgets 360 that the other variants will go up for pre-order later today.
Flipkart is giving up to Rs 27,000 discount on the new Pixel and Pixel XL if you have a good enough phone to exchange. In addition, you will also get e-gift vouchers of worth 10 percent of the value of the variant you buy, for the first 1,000 buyers of the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The Pixel phones launched last week at a special event in San Francisco. Sporting an aluminum unibody and a glass casing at the back, the Pixel phones are powered by the newly released Snapdragion 821 processor, a quad-core chip with two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two other clocked at 2.15GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Both phones sports a 12.3-megapixel camera on the back with a Sony IMX378 sensor, phase-detection autofocus and a large f/2.0 aperture and 1.55-micron pixels, all of which combined gives the camera on the Pixel phones a DxO Mark score higher than the iPhone 7.
The Pixel phones are also the first phones to support Google’s Daydream VR platform and come installed with Google Assistant, Google’s Siri-like digital voice assistant.
