Instant Articles Are Coming To Messenger, Announces Facebook

Facebook recently announced that it is bringing the Instant Article feature to Facebook messenger, enabling users to read articles shared to and by them on Messenger, directly on Messenger itself.

With Instant Articles enabled, publisher’s articles are opened much faster. It uses the same technology used to open photos and videos quickly in the Facebook app. The articles appearing in the news feed open almost instantly.

Instant articles are ten times faster than standard mobile web articles. They work almost like Google’s own Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), used in Google search. It would be good to have reduced loading times, improving the chances of articles being read by the user. But this advantage can be leveraged only if the publishers themselves have signed up for the feature.

The instant articles will start rolling out to Android devices first, and then will become available for iOS users.
