Yesterday evening, BlackBerry CEO John Chen announced the company had taken yet another loss – $372 million this time around and had finally decided to shelf its hardware business which made smartphones. Now, the writing was on the wall for Canadian company.
It had been there for a couple of years to be precise. So, it didn’t come as a shock that the company ended up announcing it would stop designing and making its own smartphones. But if you look at history, it is hard not to see why it failed.
